    Samsung 850 EVO 1TB 2.5" SSD ($319.99)
(Check PC Part Picker, link blocked)

imo, if you're going to get a better hard drive, you might as well pay a higher price per gb and get a better performing ssd like a samsung.
but any ssd will be a significant upgrade over an hdd

Depends how many GB you think you're going to need. If you have multiple games that would take up around 1.5TB of Space, you should better stick with the Hard Drive and maybe get a 256GB SSD to put your most-played games on.

No problem! A 256GB SSD or maybe even a 512GB SSD will probably be excellent in your case. Either go with a Samsung 850 PRO SSD or if you have a M.2 Socket on your Motherboard you should go with a 950 PRO M.2 SSD. The size is up to you, but at least 256GB. Happy upgrading!

Like what the above suggested already. Samsung EVO 850, or 950 for M.2 is the most popular pick on market right now. Crucial makes really good SSDs too. They're both great for gaming.

Grab a nVme ssd thats on a PCIe bus, way faster as nvme was made for ssds, if you must get a normal one, i love the OCZ series and theyre really easy to SE

Is it possible to link up two 512 ssd's instead of one hard drive?

You got a nice budget just go for a 950 SSD or a nVme drive. Hella fast hella expensive.

You mean making a RAID 0? Well yeah, it's always possible. Will probably be even faster since it writes on both SSDs instead of dumping all on one. But if one SSD fails, everything is lost.
