This statement is correct. Once a new crack is released for the latest version, we should be able to play with normal players.

Hey guys, this is my first good post, and i figured i'd do something for Modern Warfare 2. Now, there is a similar thread to this, except the poster messed it all up as far as download links and virus scans. I will follow the rules and post everything here. Make sure MW2 is closed throughout this process, or at least until i tell you too.

Step 1. Download the attached .rar file.
Step 2. Download the Zero Gear Demo here now if the link needs to be removed due to rules, i will immediately do so. people have said you do not need the Zero Gear demo, and you can skip this step if you wish, but i haven't tested this so i cant guarantee it will work if you dont download it.

Step 2 part 2 Install the game after downloading, and once finished, exit steam

step 3. Navigate your way to your Zero Gear Server folder

i.e. C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\zero gear\Server

Step 4. Delete all files in the Server folder (dont delete the whole thing, just the contents)

Step 5. Copy and paste your Modern Warfare 2 files into the Server folder (inside the Server folder) (oh, and dont take the whole folder, select everything INSIDE the Modern Warfare 2 folder and paste or move it in)

NOTE: The copy and paste manuever is slow, and can take up to 30-45 minutes. It is much faster if you just select everything in your modern warfare folder and drag it in, thus moving the folder, and not copying it all, but you risk not having a back up in case something goes wrong.

Step 6 open the .rar file and extract its ALL contents to said Server folder, overwriting everything it needs to. The .rar files enables you to play online, you cannot okay online without crack.

Step 7: left clicked the 'iw4mp.exe' and go down to Send to... and then Desktop (create shortcut)

Step 8: Open Steam.

Step 9: Run file from shortcut made to desktop.

Step 10: once connected, find a server and have fun!

Give Thanks if it worked.

You should probably make a new steam account, as there is a slight chance you might get banned (very slight, though)

Q&A

I join a match and before i get to play it brings me back to the menu and says "mp_patch.ff does not match server" or something like that

FIX: Really, this shouldn't happen, but i might have to update the file.
PS, i didn't make the crack, don't thank me for the crack, just for helping everyone use it.

thats obvious, you have to install MW2 before those steps...
Anyway, it works. And if its true that i can play only with cracked ppl than its even better... I played just one game on crack yesterday and had 100~ ping on global war ( thats impressive ) + noone was cheating.

I got banned from MW2 Multiplayer, so i deleted the game. Would I need to reinstall singleplayer or multiplayer so i can play on a cracked server? pls reply A.S.A.P.

THe cracked game and the original game are non-related. Download the cracked one now, and you can even play with MW2 still installed from Steam

Well, you see, I uninstalled MW2 singleplayer and multiplayer from steam.

So then I tried downloading the crack, and i downloaded everything step by step, but came across the problem where you go to the folder Activision/Modern Warfare 2 or whatever because i uninstalled the game. So I tried opening the crack and it said "Error during initialization: No IWD files found in /main"



So could you help me on what I'm doing wrong or a fix or tell me if I have to download Singleplayer or Multiplayer or somethin. Thanks.

You have to install it once again, than copy all files from steam/steamapps/common/modernwarfare2

I just copied files right after i got banned on legit version, so game was oryginal also and it works well after all patches and cracks. But the version is 1.175, i heard there is 1.180 for crack already? Any link? Im at works so i cant download it here lol. My net is under control.

sorry if i'm double posting but i need a response asap because I don't want to wait 3 hours to DL this and then knowing that I had to DL the other.

I'm installing both until I get an anwser atm, which means it'll take longer to install because the 2 are sharing speeds.

MW2 Singleplayer = 10% at 300KB P/S
MW2 Multiplayer = 4% at 300KB P/S

Installation of legit version had both mp and sp, if mp got iwd files i'd say you can download only MP but im not sure, tought its connected.

AFAIK tuts told about downloading releases from razor etc. those copies were 11gb so probabably full game. Im confused ;/

From what I saw from you, I can tell yas I don't like you Kamerdra but i can still hope you will get better and will stop doubleposting.

It is useless for you to download singleplayer, This is only a few magabytes more than MP, For the exe and some stuff, You can cancel that one.

Download the MP, Then copy all your damn common/CODMW2 content in your cracked version as it is stated to do it.
