LONG LIVE JAHSEH 1998-2018
Because you linked a video recorded in 2008? and make a thread "wow police are very dangerous now-a-days 8[ even though it's almost a 10 year old video i should warn everyone on mpgh!"
Police have always been dangerous
People have always been dangerous
Dashcams are good for car crashes and things like this
There has always been police abuse but they arent always recorded
Do I think police brutality is an issue? Yes.
Do I think it's as prevalent as most anti-cop people say it is? No.
Do I think that the protection of police that do abuse their power is an issue? Absolutely.
I'm going to go out and say it, a vast majority of what most people call 'brutality' isn't really brutality;
Getting your face smashed into the curb because you resisted arrest isn't brutality.
Getting shot when trying to take an officer's gun isn't brutality.
Getting beaten when trying to fight a cop isn't brutality.
With that out of the way, there are way too many cases of actual brutality that fly straight under the radar because there was no evidence or footage to back it up. A big issue with how people argue and go about debating these things is that unfortunately a lot of the cases with actual evidence, aren't actually brutality, and that on the flipside, a lot of the cases of actual brutality don't have evidence. It's a strange paradigm indeed, but this causes a lot of people on both sides to make stretching claims that don't actually add up to the facts.
Those that don't know what brutality actually is, will see hundreds of videos of cops rightfully doing their jobs, and scream brutality for the mere fact that people get hurt in the videos; (refer back to what is and isn't brutality). Then on the other side, the willfully ignorant saps that think that cops can do no wrong and there never is any issue, will play the same cards, but once again, most actual brutality isn't caught on camera. Hell, there have been a few actual documented cases, where officers were caught deleting video from a dead perp's phone, because the footage would be incriminating toward the officer.
I really dislike the crowd that goes out and says shit like ACAB, and Fuck Pigs, and all other sorts of immature and uninformed gibberish, and I also dislike the crowd that treats cops like sterling angels, formed from the dust of the heavens that can never do wrong.
The real answer is somewhere in the middle, and the day people realize that, is the day people can start working toward finding a solution.
