It depends. If Valve goes after the skin selling websites (OP Skins for example) then prices are going to plummet because everyone is going to cash out as soon as they can.

Pretty much. I bought a knife at 40% off market price to take advantage of the situation. Who knows, I might get screwed over in retrospect if Valve does shut down skin selling sites. On the other hand, the prices will normalize if Valve accepts such sites.

It's not really because of those people that bet thousands of dollars and know better. It's basically parents speaking out for the kids. The kids basically watch youtuber win the "pot" and keep winning and the kids start thinking that if he can win that much then so can I, so they end up losing the money and crying to their parents and hence the problem.
