Best game to sink hours into?

Well, it is currently summer and I don't have much planned for the majority of the holidays meaning killing time is difficult.

I am bored of most of the games I currently have on steam, so I am looking for new suggestions on which is playable for a decent amount of time.

I have already got the main titles such as CS GO or Garry's mod.

I am open to all genres of games, as long as they're time consuming.

Hoping I can receive some decent suggestions on games, thanks in advance.

It depends on you, everyone has his own taste I suggest you watch some videos about different games then you can choose!
Good luck with finding a good game that you like. the best game ever for me was Crossfire but the CF forum died here and I don't play Crossfire anymore.

Thought of some more. SPORE is a pretty fun one, but it's singleplayer. You get to evolve a creature and have it go through stages, I enjoyed it a lot. Terraria is also extremely great, and a single playthrough can take 300+ hours. Has good replayability and is even better with a friend.
