How long vac takes to detect cheats?

How long VAC (estimately) takes to detect a cheat FROM its release here?
just wondering if i want to start cheating again and trying to keep safe as long as i can
and does VMProtect help alot if you use it with cheats?

^Also, it's impossible to tell exactly how long it will take for X hack to get VAC detected. It depends on the way the said hack is coded, what measures are implemented in its source code to prevent it from getting VAC detected if any and how many users use it, (if a large portion of users decide to use it at once, it will obviously trigger VAC's alarms faster).
