Lights are connected to a separate circuit as well as fridges, tvs and ovens. They simply cut off the light nothing else.
And you can easily grant access to the lights by either connecting to the *dont know the name in english* on your house which controls your home circuits or heck even modifying the voltage on that circuit thus triggering the life saving feature to shut down the current in that circuit.

I don't disagree that, if that mother actually abused her children, and if this video is real, she did deserve it.

But just because someone does something illegal, doesn't mean you should do something illegal as well to get revenge.
