What type of main character do you prefer?

The character I would like is like someone from WARLOCK OF THE MAGUS WORLD
Not evil but will use human lives to get research done and not help anyone unless a reward is there, keep a low profile ( like come in second place so he doesn't attract trouble) and will give his enemies a chance to go because he can use them as Guinne pigs later on or kill them if they become a hassle later on. So basically he is a human. Also he is not a hypocrite and knows he is evil in a way. I also like a mysterious and serious type main character that is not chasing after a girl, like the main character above he gets his business done and and leaves cause if you are not going to commit to one girl what's the point?

I agree with @hunterxhunterfan I don't know why but I always like a character like that, for example Meliodas from The Seven Deadly Sins.
I also agree with @Gaar's favourite especially since Death Note is one of my favourite anime's that I've had the pleasure of watching.

I have to many things I like so it's basically impossible for me to come up with a favourite.

No they don't. Lelouch is still alive or at least he is from the 4 ova movies that they made. Julius Kingsley from Boukoku no Akitolook looks awfully the same, even wears wears an eye patch over his geass; he was supposedly brainwashed.

I want the character to have a unique ability that no other character has, but that doesn't start out to be the best immediately. But with some training, he can easily become the best with the unique, natural ability he has started with.
