Exclamation ALERT! AQ/MQ/DF SWF Crash Issue Fix 2.0 [NOW WORKS WITH UPDATED ADOBE FLASH]

WARNING!!! BACKUP YOUR 32bit/x84 Flash.ocx IN CASE THE ONE IN THIS THREAD DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU.
(I'm looking into this problem seriously now, waiting for a few flash devs to get back with me. I'm tired of all these plebs complaining about the same shit)

    Previous thread: https://www.mpgh.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1170564

The reason why trainers are crashing when loading SWFs is because the shockwave flash has a security update that messes with the ability to write memory in the base swf from other swfs. There's a few ways to fix this depending on your OS, and version. I've recently came up with a solution that should work for everyone. Visual Studio's shockwave flash control references Flash.ocx, all you have to do is use a Flash.ocx without the security patch.

    1) Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
    2) If "Flash.ocx" exists then
Right click > properties > security > Advance > Change Owner > Advance > Find Now > Select your Windows Username > OK > OK > Apply > OK.
Now click Edit then select your Users/Admins and check Full Control.
    Remove/Delete Flash.ocx
    3) Download Shockwave Flash Fix from this thread, and extract the Flash.ocx to your Macromed\Flash folder.

Now you should be able to use SWFs in trainers again. If this doesn't work then try to uninstall the Adobe Flash security update or install an archived flash version(https://www.mpgh.net/forum/showthread...5#post12680335).

    https://www.virustotal.com/#/file-an...UwNDMyMjU1NQ==

@Silent Don't sticky until can get more people to confirm this works. Pretty sure it'll work for everyone.

(May need to recreate thread once more information is gathered, so please post any results here!)

Edit: Apparently some trainers reference C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash as well. Still looking into this.

Okay so this is what's going on for me (on my computer) Legit DragonFable Trainer is referencing the sysWOW64 folder for Flash.ocx, but even though AEDAB says it's referencing the same folder, it's actually referencing System32. I'm not sure why this is happening, but I'm going to need to get some feed back before I can figure out how to resolve this. Hopefully we can come up with a perm solution to adobe's shit software.

I don't know what this is supposed to do as I have no problem, so good luck with finding someone who has problems with trainer crashes...and boys there's many of them.

    Running on Win7 SP1

So, I went to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash as well as C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash and found that the flash.ocx aren't labeled as such. Instead they were labeled as flash[vers#].ocx

Ex: if using current version of Flash, it's Flash64_26_0_0_151.ocx [System32 folder] and Flash32_26_0_0_151.ocx [SysWOW64 folder] instead. Images are included underneath

    System32:

    SysWOW64:

If these two files are the ones I'm supposed to be changing, please tell me and I'll get started on your steps.

Yep. But first back both of these files up in a folder elsewhere just in case.

Got two options, rename the flash.ocx to the flash64_26_0_0_151.ocx then replace it in system32. Try to see if AEDAB works, if not then try Legit DragonFable Trainer. Confirm for me whether either one works or if neither does.

Then we'll move on from there.

    2) If "Flash.ocx" exists then
Right click > properties > security > Advance > Change Owner > Advance > Find Now > Select your Windows Username > OK > OK > Apply > OK.
Now click Edit then select your Users/Admins and check Full Control.

It's telling me that I need permission from my own account in order to make changes. Weird. Sorry I'm running into these problems and messing things up.

Edit: I do have full control over my entire System32 folder.

    https://gyazo.com/c7ce5d34bc247fe845534ad8a429780c

Should I try changing it to give all Users Full Control perms instead?

Your user has to, also just click the .ocx file and get permission for it.

Windows 7 should be close to the same. Just right click, properties, security, etc..

Give all permissions to regular users and admins. I believe that owner W7 changing isn't 100% identical to W10 changing, but giving permissions looks similar if I recall right, but it isn't rocket science.

You have to change owner of the Flash64_26_0_0_151.ocx and give permissions, then.

You gave ownership to admin, you are not admin. Give ownership to your Desktop username.

If you give ownership, then you can change the permissions. Give full control after setting it to your username.

No idea what you are trying to do but you could try run CMD as an admin and then delete that .ocx

    "del C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\Flash64_26_0_0_ 151.ocx" or something.

when I am trying to change name of my Flash.ocx file I need admin confirmation, but Windows do not give you admin option at all so that's where your problem lies.

Sorry for the delay, had some irl stuff to do.

I have changed my account name to Bob for clarity and it is still an Administrator account according to User Accounts in the Control Panel.

I have current ownership of the flash.ocx file
    https://gyazo.com/f1a68c3b14d02376bc952322e52b6330

as well as full control in the permissions
    https://gyazo.com/dfc379bc816c45985d6907dfff705db4

The error is still popping up and not letting me delete the file itself.
@Eareland I have tried both the cmd command and it just gives me an access is denied line. I can change the file name and the file type but when deleting it tells me that the file is currently being used by another program and I can't figure out what is using it.
