Crazy as I'm a tall guy and I'm always trying to conquer my fear of heights. But it always ends up coming back so I'm hoping skydiving will get rid of it forever.

Well I'm not sure this will help with your fear of heights. I mean, it could, or couldn't.

Seeing the ground from 1000+ meters is actually nothing like seeing it from a couple meters.

However, practicing it regularly will get rid of it forever

That's the fun, jumping out of a plane (helicopter is actually way harder) that's flying well, and trust me, IT IS fun

You can't die Skydiving if you're not suicidal (just avoid cliff base jumping and proximity wingsuit), there's way too many safeguards in place.

Nothing can happen to you while you're in the air, that's the beauty.

There's 2 ways to get into Skydiving : AFF and Static Line.
AFF's fast but really expensive (1k+), Static Line's slow but pretty cheap (from 0 to a one or two hundreds I'd say).

Then it's just 30-50$ per jump depending on where you jump (and the price of the gear rental).
