How to make Hacks work [Crashes before Login]

I had been having trouble getting any of the hacks recently made to work at all. The game would crash before I got to the login screen. Then I found a post on another site explaining a solution. This is by sumGUY.

I have just figured out a way to fix CombatArms from crashing at game start after injecting hacks. to do this follow the instructions. ;] What you will be doing is Turning off DEP (Data execution prevention) For Comabtarms, so that your computer will not End the proccess of CombatArms.

Step 1
Go to Computer and the the top tabs press "System Properties"
or
Press Start button (bottom Left) and right click Computer>preoperties




Step 2
On the Left under "Tasks" open up "Advanced system settings"
under "advanced tab" Go to Performace at press "Settings


Step 3
A window should open called "Performance Options"
Go to the "Data Execution Preventions" Tab

Step 4
"Turn on DEP for all programs and Services Except..." Should be ticked off.
And now Press "Add" under the Box

Step 5
Go to your CombatArms Directory (X:\Nexon\Combat Arms)
Add Engine.exe and Apply and OK
NOT THE LAUNCHER (CombatArms.exe)


Step6
Pfft.. a Step 6?, Happy Hacking ;]

Windows XP

1. Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.
2. Click the Advanced tab, click Performance, and then click Settings.
3. In Performance Options, click the Data Execution Prevention tab, and then click Add.
4. In the Open dialog box, locate and then click the program.
5. Click Open, click Apply, and then click OK. When you are prompted to restart your computer, click OK.

note: This was mainly for Warrock but also works on CombatArms, it has been tested and works

I wasn't sure which section to put it. It is a help item, but it helps make hacks work.

well like its a help item for hacks and if u look in the help section its all about hacks and helping lol

Is there posts requesting hack help in the help section? All I ever read is people requesting help for combat arms. I figured the help section is where people post game help requests, because Nexon doesn't help their customers when they contact customer support.

Doesnt work

All it does is make system error minidump files or whatever and do that

"Combat arms has stopped working, etc, we suck, close this" dialog boxes

It helped me. I couldn't run any hacks before I turned off DEP, and now I can run all the 'working' hacks. If the post didn't help you and you are having trouble running a hack, I would guess you are having a different problem.

What does C&P mean?

If you mean leeched as in I got it from someone else, then yes I did. It's a function of windows. Even the guy who originally posted this didn't 'come up' with this, it is something Microsoft built into the OS. I wouldn't leech someone's hack, passing it on as something I created.

I said it's from some1 else right from the beginning, but it wasn't completely copy and pasted. I did have to correct some spelling, change fonts, colors, alignment, relink images, & rewrite the instructions for XP.

OK i did as instructed and tried to run r a g e k i n g s hack and it still d/c'd me.You sure this works,if so what hacks are you using to make it work so good for you?
