my antivir is off,extracted the file,run it then mw2 but in the game does not show up anything! what else could be the probleme?

Ok, so id like to know definitively.
With mw2, i know there are VAC bans, but there are no servers, so there are only the VAC process searching, so i'm under the impression you can not be VAC banned unless your hack is blacklisted by VAC or your are reported. is this correct? can anybody confirm this?
