Intel is a gaming core but they heat up fastly, AMD is a budget procssoer that keeps fairly cool and overclocks well
I prefer Intel, but being short on money I built an AMD kit. While shopping around my friend being biased to Intel showed me this unbiased site where they test various CPU's and update their results daily. About 3 inches down and on the right you can select the category of CPU's being compared. Very interesting site and will hopefully put some truth to common speculation.

I will say for the price AMD usually is better, but for the most part you get what you pay for.

I prefer AMD, I have a Athlon 2X 64 3800+ and I have no problems... It runs fast and cool
i personally like intel because i dual boot mac and its only compatible with intel or at least of now and i also like the sound they do on the commercials
AMD wins the price/performance category. But Phenom II can't keep up with Core i7, so Intel wins when it comes to sheer horsepower. But, I can't complain too much, with my Phenom II X4 940 overclocked @ 3.7GHz. Gets the job done in no matter what I do. And when it comes to gaming, Phenom II keeps up with i7.
Intel wins you newbs! and thats coming from some one who has amd!
ROUTE - You don๕t even know the pros/cons of each one?
One overheats fast, other is cheap, runs great but is slightly crappier for gaming
By the way i only understand a little what you are talking, i cant believe you are aussie, but talk like some hebrean with four-gradeer english.

↑See this? Fix plz.
AMD > Intel in price
Intel > AMD Performance (not notably)
i got i7 985 extreme at 3.32ghz (fastest on the market) for the price of 1108$ and my other amd athlon x2 at 2.0 ghz (laptop) and combat arms run as sweet (or almost) then on my intel, but im still for intel, because it can beat almost all amd processors, but this is my first intel, i never got any problem before with AMD and my i7 is quite hot and im worried about that... i got a water cooling system and its still hot, cmon, i never get that problem with AMD!
Uhm, I have no idea. Dam you spent that much on a computer! The most I've spent was $500 and it sucks ass! 1 GB RAM IS BS! I need a new computer. Anyone wanna donate? XD
