Got a pretty bad malware on my pc

So my brother downloaded a pretty suspicious program and ran it for some reason. There is nothing dangerous except ads kept on showing on my browser once in a while and highlight some random texts with clickable ads (see pic)

anyone know how to remove it ?

i ran malwarebytes and do a scan but the virus is still there

Most AV's will be pointless if the virus has been crypted to be FUD, honestly your best option is to do a system restore to a point before your brother downloaded this. Let me know if this helps.

now my brother is not that smart yet, all he knows is to install games and play them. so i dont know if he ever back up his computer

Edit : was there no way to remove the malware ? i will look into this more

2nd Edit : The virus he got is from a site called viid.me which have been reported to spread malware to someone who download from their website

3rd Edit : The virus is simmilar to save video malware

Completely wipe everything on the browser that has that. You can backup bookmarks and reimport later.

I don't have any type of extension being added to my browser. this thing is worse than the best ads thingy

its one of those "installer" that installs the file you are downloading "faster" but this time it didn't install toolbars or search engines it literally install some virus.

will tell him to not trust any Russian webs.

Use AdwCleaner, it should probably fix it and then reset your browser to default.

I recommend just wiping the system and reinstalling Windows and all your programs. It's more work, but it's worth it in the long run. As a plus, your computer might even run faster!
