Ok, This is the deal..

Os was fine last night shut down restarted and now when ever i try to open any programs like Internet or anything it says asked what program i want to use to open it????

WTF does that mean..

It only works now if i right click and hit start,,,

If i right click and hit open same thing..

The right click start thing was never there untill i started having these problems

I mean when i right click it never said start.. It was open or run as admin..

What do i need to do to fix this?



Please help sum1 i need this fixed!!!

what OS are you using?
have you gotten any rundll errors?
is it only *.exe files? or does it effect like jpg's or anything in your control panel?

iv had this happen to me before...its most likely a virus
you could start out by simply running every scanner you have or even do a system restore to about 3 days before it started
im thinking its either explorer or your registry might have been tampered with

Registery tell what program to use to open what file extension, and you say it happened after you restarted you PC, change to registery only take effect after you restart your PC, so something probably messed up your registery. Do virus scan and monitor your registery to see what program access it.

If you have recently run a registry cleaner or defragmentor it could have accidentally deleted the registry files. If you have not then it is most likely a virus and you should system restore to 3-4 days ago.
