you don't have a dedicated gpu? Maybe you can play some AAA games at lowest settings and low resolution. I would still recommend buying a new gpu. I don't know your budget but maybe 1070?
I bought a PC back in December of 2016 for about $500 (I know it was a budget pc). Basically I just want to know how long the PC could survive before needing an upgrade to play new Triple-A games on their lowest graphic.

You definetly need a dedicated GPU, iGPU's are bad thermally and performance wise. Currently GPU prices are skyrocketed because of cryptomining so you may want to wait a bit but here is 2 budget GPU's that will hold up for a few years at least. NVIDIA 1050ti or the NVIDIA 1060

If you get a gpu make sure you are not overpaying thanks to the crypto miners.
just add used gtx 970 its would be fine always on 1080p
Grab yourself a 1050ti or 1060 depending on the budget.
