Depends on your luck my personal account didn't get recovered in like 1 year but it will at least get you 24 hours because of the warranty.

It also depends on how reckless you are, f.e changing the account details like Email and pass is very risky because that will send a mail to the old email address you removed, with a link to reset it back if the real owner wasnt the one who changed it.

With a mail like that, you're waking up the owner unnesecarily and prompting them to take steps to recover. Because that type of mail sets off all alarm bells.
That's why most cracked account sellers dont provide any warranty once you start changing stuff in the account.

Also when you just change password the real owner might notice someone else is using his account quicker, because he cannot get in.
And when you just play on it, hoping he wont get the ''account in use'' thingy (another big reason of why it goes wrong) or he wont notice massive changes to his account like leveling up, or money changes, then the owner even if he still plays can be unsuspecting and you will not be kicked off the account by him as fast.

So it really depends on
1) is the owner still regularly playing the account, and if he is inactive, do you make a dumb move like changing Account email so he reads that warning and resets.
If the owner dont play anymore he may be used to ignoring ''friend X wants to add you'' or other Rockstar emails, but when the email subject from R* is: ''Your Email has been changed'' then he will open it and all alarms go off.

So with that dumbest move, even who doesnt play GTA anymore will recover his account back.
But when you changed nothing, maybe he wouldnt even notice someone was using the account.

personally I was lucky once when I changed the account Email, because it seems that guy didnt read the email address anymore or lost his Gmail so he took no action from that I changed it. And that account still works

User provided me with the login information for an account which unfortunately didn't work, I prompted him that this was the case and then received a replacement!
The replacement provided was of a significantly greater value than the $4.50 purchase price! 40Mil+ in the bank & a high rank (legitimate I think) this was provided by ways of an apology for the mistake with the first set of information but is very much appreciated as it's not part of his initial service.
