I suggest the 9800GT, it WILL run most games on very high settings, except for Crysis on highest and AA settings on.

You have to have a mobo that will support DDR3,unless you have a motherboard that takes DDR3 ram then it is not useless

I just got a core 2 duo E8400 with a 780i mobo and a radeon 4650. I can run batman, crysis, fallout 3, bioshock2, borderlands and dragon age origins on max settings with no glitching. And thats without overclocking and only 2 megs of ram

Best thing is i paid about $120 for the CPU $80 for the mobo and $90 for the GPU just got a new heatsink so will try overclocking soon.

DDR3 is faster ram than DDR2, but by a little bit, too small to even notice, but its WAAAAAY more expensive. Why would you waste extra money on something that will improve your computer by a little?

DDR3 has lower latencies and less power consumption and 4 gigs is plenty enough to power pretty much anything

They both have different speed, DDR3 comes in 1067MHz to 2400 MHz, the higher speed, the more expensive, in other words, Apple gave you crap DDR3. DDR2 Comes in 400MHz to 1200MHz.
