Guys here is a recent GFD interview that I found in Nexon Forum. I know that tons of people hate this guy but I also know that some ppl like me can get interested in this.

Q: Thanks for agreeing to have an interview, dead. Before we start, do you mind telling us about yourself? Occupation, etc.

Well, I'm no kid as most of you think I am, I'm 49 years old male and live here in California, actually south of Los Angeles in Orange County by the beach.

Allot of rumors say I'm a Dentist, well almost correct, I'm a Dental Laboratory Technician. What I do is make all restoration for the Doctors as in fabricating gold crowns, Porcelain crowns, Veneers, Implants, etc. I went into Dentistry right after High School, I mean got my diploma and went directly into Dental Technology Institute.

Been doing dental work since 1979, way before most of you were born - LOL . Worked with a Lab owner for many years and eventually bought the business in 1994 and had my own Dental Lab since then.

Q: How did you find Combat arms, and what led you to aspire to be the #1 player?

This is a great question. I didn't find Combat Arms, actually It was forced down my throat by my long time friend of 41 years Nottmoto.

Here is how that story got started, Nottmoto and another player which I knew for a long time in a different game named PuffaRoach both were trying out different FPS games.

I was at that time just messing around in Online Poker (Texas Holdem NL), both Nottmoto and PuffaRoach would try a game out and report back to me on it, telling me if it was good enough for me to even download and play. Well most of the games they were testing all failed but a game came along named Combat Arms and they played it for a week or more and then keep telling me that this game was great , you got to download it NOW !!!

Well I didn't download it cause I was happy trying to get Royal Flushes in a Poker room but Nottmoto kept bugging the out of me and finally I gave in and Downloaded it and told Nottmoto " Happy Now ?" LOL.

He helped me thru the set up and we went into my first game which was Snow Valley Elim. I was just following Nottmoto around but actually did well. The days following I found a mode called OMA, I loved it and played the Bejesus out of it, till the hacking started getting out of hand and that pushed me into Fire team.

Now as for me aspiring to be the #1 player, well I never thought of me even making it to the top 100.
But here is the whole story on how I got to #1, as I was playing everyday and loving OMA , I always looked at my ranking and kept watching it move up, one day Nottmoto told me " Dude' you made into the top 1000". Wow Nottmoto and PuffaRoach who started this game 2 weeks before me were still treading mud back in the 3000 ranks LOL.

Now I kept playing OMA 100% of the time and that's when I started to notice that first wave of the original OPK'ers, the ones who had to be at a specific location for the hacks to work.
Nexon didn't do any bans at that time and I was ranked at that time like 300 or 500 I forget at the moment but then Nexon did the first Huge Ban hammer and BAMMM !
The next morning I was ranked 87th !!! Wow... I flipped out, I made it to the top 100.

I continued to play OMA like crazy and kept moving up slowing in the ranking and Nexon did the next Ban wave and BAMMM, now I was ranked 15th !!!! Holy Cow !!! Now I'm really excited.

So here is the secret on how I made it to #1. When I got to # 15th rank, all the players ahead of me stopped playing Combat Arms except Krytical. The day before I passed him in rank he played finally and held #1 for another day but I was determined to pass him in rank and I finally did.

Every since then I held the #1 spot.

Q(Last_Goodbye): On average, how many friend requests do you get in one day?

Well My day starts with logging on to Combat Arms and I usually get like 7-10 friends request, that's every time I log on the game.

Then when I'm in a new server I get 2-3 hits there too.

Now most of you never see me chilling out in the lobby, WHY ?
When I'm in the lobby looking for a channel to click onto, someone in the lobby see's me and then precedes to type "Hey.. Its Greatfullded" or "OMG Its HIM !!".

At that point I leave the lobby faster then South of the border water will go thru your lower intestine's. I mean, I will get tons of friends request if I stay in the lobby for just a few seconds after that.

So most of the time, you will never see me chillin in the lobby unless the player info is not working and is blank... then I can stay in the lobby as long as I want.

Q: Having the rank of #1 must bring lots of hate, yet lots of fame. Could you e***asize and expand on how being #1 affects you?

At first its cool but fame comes with a price that you have to live with and be able to mentally deal with all the jealous player and all the hate.

Truthfully I don't look at my #1 rank, I know its there but I play the game for fun.

I know I'm not the best players, only the highest ranking player, the best player is only a state of mind. I try to build character and get respect from the other players which to me is more important then being the best. Achieving that to me makes you the best.

Q: Do you mind giving us some info or specs about your PC?

Well its a simple PC that I had Custom built but it's dying.

I run the Pentium ( 4 ) 3.4
G-Force 8600 GTS
3 HD's over a TB of Memory
only running 2 gigs of RAM since my OS is Windows XP

Good enough to play this game for now but still need to get a new comp after I pay my Taxes... QQ.

Q(ianfactor): Do you feel weapons like the G36E are overpowered? What are your feelings on overpowered items in general? Should this be a major concern for Nexon?

Nexon tries to make each gun to its realistic specification, sometimes Nexon puts in a gun and gives it too much power and cyclic rate of fire which then they nerf it. As for the G36e I don't feel it's that overpowered, damage is the same as the others.

Q: A side question to whet our curiosity, what is your favorite food?

Living here in Los Angeles so its a melting pot of different cultures. I love Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, German and even Hawaiian food... my Family is from Kauai.
I Love all the ethnic food except the ones that is still moving on the plate, "Homie don't play dat !"

Q: You’re currently a LT COL 5th, which means you’re about to make history being the first Brigadier general in Combat arms. Are you exited or anticipating this moment?

I was excited to make full bird Colonel, which to me is the coolest rank I love the bird, but for sure this game is all about General or General of the Army.

Most of all I'm just excited to rank up and say bye bye to my last rank with levels, all the Generals don't have any levels. I mean I don't go from Brig. General level 1 to level 2, Nope I go from a 1 star to a 2 star General and that's is too cool.

Q(Last_Goodbye): Do you get gifted randomly just because of your name?

I do' but I discourage them to gift me. Bcause don't like to get it that way.
If they gift me out of the blue then I can't do anything about that and have to accept it.

Q: Its noted that you only play OMA and Fire team. Do you ever play other game modes like Elimination or Search and Destroy?

Used to play some CTF, but then allot of players started to do that CTF Stacking thing so don't really play that now. I play elim now and again, my clan plays that allot and tries very hard to get me in there with them LOL.
I don't play Search & Destroy and Spy Hunt was fun when it first came out.

Q: We’ve noticed that you have an M4 CQBR LE, but it says you don’t have any kills on it. What do you have to say for this?

Well I got that as a LE weapon in a black Case and only use it in Desert Thunder.
If I go play CTF, Elim, or OMA you will find me with my trusty AK.

Q: (ianfactor): Allot of known members of the community likes to interact with the rest of the community, is there a reason as to why you remain silent with the community?

Not sure what you mean by that. I talk with allot of the clans and players in the game on Vivox all the time. But if you mean on the Combat Arms Forum, I go on there all the time, I just don't use my real IGN.

I messed up when making my profiles and accidently put my PW in as my name for the forum and Nexon wouldn't let me change it so I kept it as that and became "The man with No Name" on the forum.
BTW, Yes I changed my PW LOL.

Q (TheArbiter): How did you come up with your name, greatfullded?

Simple, I really love that band, BTW I tried to use Greatfulldead or Gratefuldead but someone already used that name believe it or not.
I just modified Greatfulldead and dropped the ( a ) in dead and just used ( ded ) which worked and I started playing the game.

Q(Last_Goodbye): Do you actually listen to the band Grateful Dead?

Yes' My older brother got me into them and I listen to allot of his bootleg copies of their concerts.
So Yes' I'm a Dead Head forever !

Q: With the recent issue with how you were surpassed in rank in one day by a hacker, did you feel any guilt or anger at how you had worked so hard to be beaten by such cowardly means in a day?

Well hackers are there to create hate and discontent. The more you QQ and vent anger at them the more they will feel pleasure. As for the wannabe GOA, I asked Nexon to ban them before the game updates so that will take away the one thing that the hackers wanted, a Trophy. In this case just the rank of GOA and then they can say they did it no matter even if they got discharged the next day.

So there was no anger at anytime since I knew they would be banned.

All the time and money I put into this game, I'm still here playing and having fun.
The hackers put all that time and money into this game and they get banned, well it looks like I WIN !

Q (ianfactor): Is the lag affecting you at all? did you change your playing style b/c of the affect of the lag?

The freeze lag was the worst, I mean I tried to stay away from bumping into players but that was very hard to do since we don't have eyes in back of your head.

I played allot more of Cabin Fever where there was no lag in there for some reason, but in desert thunder the lag was horrible and it was that freeze lag.
But I still played it and managed to still finish the game with some decent scores.

Lag is like getting on the freeway and finding out instead of driving 65 *** you ran into bumper to bumper traffic, but you'll still get to point A to point B and everyone is feeling the lag not only you.

In a nutshell I hated the lag, we all hate lag but what can we do about it ? as a paying customer of the game and I mean as a paying customer I bought lots of NX, I didn't pay for the lag.

Q: What do you think of the new Champion set, and have you tried any of the items?

Oh' you mean the same old Knife, Pistol and M16 with a different skin on them that we all got. The only thing Nexon really changed in that group was the Cap's adding some sprint stamina.
I only have the "Elite set" right now and not the "Champion set". But my guess is that the cap will still be the only thing in that group that has any kind of change to it.

Q(Ianfactor): 10) Despite having a few individuals defending and telling the community that you are good guy, the rest of the community don't really know too much about you and some portray you as a guy that stay in the basement playing CA all day. If there is one thing that the community should know that will change their views about you, what will it be?

I play Combat Arms about 2 hours before work and I play a few hours after work.
If they notice, I'm not on during the day on the weekdays. I work fulltime as I stated in the questionnaire above.

I'm a regular human being, I'm just a person that likes to play video games just as much as the next person. I'm just here to have fun and to forget about my days problem at work and all the pain that goes with life in general. We are all here in a make believe world to get away from reality just to have fun. I think you all would agree with, Right ?

Q(ianfactor): Could you name a few improvements that Nexon should make in your opinion that could keep and attract more players?

Well the two things we all want, getting rid of the hackers and fixing the lag !
The ability to reply to players and tell them why their application to the clan is being denied.
Making the friends list easier and faster to organize, such as putting players in alphabetical order, a better way to move players from group to another group and the ability to remove multiple players at one time.
The ability to receive invites from friends only and not just invites on or off.
More room configuration options, such as no Specialist and the ability to turn off or on specific guns or explosives.

I also agree with the improvements that CC_Fang said in her interview with you.
"Ability to mute a person in voice chat"
"Player who calls the vote kick is identified instead of it being anonymous"
"Slightly larger clan announcement space, and a separate area to post the website URL"

Q(Last_Goodbye): Why play combat arms over other fps, and why have you been here for so long?

I have fun playing CA and I was not planning to stay this long in just one game but I ranked up fast and within two months I was in the top 10 and so on.
So I decided to make a run at it and stay here to see how long I can keep my #1 status.
I mean how often does one person get to play a game and become the highest ranking legit player in the game ?

Q: What is your favorite weapon in combat arms? Are there any guns you’d like the game to add?

My Favorite weapon has to be the AK47. I used that from day 1 and still use that but not as much at the moment cause I do allot of FT and that requires allot of Heavy MG's, in DT I use the M4A1 CQBR which is a very nice gun for that map.

I'm a real gun enthusiast, so here are some guns I would like to see in the game and the reasons why !

I know Combat Arms had the G3/ HK91 German 308 Assault rifle in game.. Heckler and Koch also made the HK93 in .223 but the HK91 is more world wide known and is used in allot of the 3rd world countries.

The G3 also was made into a shorten version called the HK51 and also had a snail drum as the G36 uses but in 308 cal which would had allot more damage then the G36.
Also the G3 was made into a Heavy MG called HK21 in different configurations which would be nice to use in the game.

Combat Arms used the TAR-21 assault rifle which is the modern gun of Israel but CA should get in the Galil 308 AR which basically is a AK Variant which also comes in different configurations.

A cool sniping gun which is beyond cool is the Walther WA2000, Only a handful of people in the United States actually owns this and when it was available for sale back 25 years ago it was going for 5-6k .

This is a very cool gun and allot nicer looking then the PSG-1 and the Dragunov sniper.
There is allot more guns I can list but that's enough for now.

We are only individuals who just like to play video games. Most of us play for fun as others play to escape from reality even if its for just a moment in time.

Last thoughts I would like to take lyrics from a song by the Gratefuldead, because it best describes my 21 months of playing CA and all the crazy stuff that happened from the beginning to this date.
