VAC banned. What now?

I've just been banned from MW2 for hacking. What do i do now? Do i just open a new steam account and buy a new MW2? I thought this was what you had to do, but one of my friends says that i have to completely format my computer. Is this true??
Please give answers, or at least refer me to a good post. If someone says "learn to search" fuck off.

Yeah you have to buy a new game.
Vac bans will not disappear if you reformat your computer sibnce this info is stored at the steam servers.
Sorry mate but you gotta buy a new game or a key witch is cheaper.

Cav banned means you are perma banned from steam.

The only thing you can do is to buy a new key.

what if you buy the new dlc, cause in bc2 if you pre-ordered it u get 2 cd keys. hmmmmm
And another thing does any1 know if u tranfer acounts will the banned thing go away? or if u delete the game

Nope bans will never go away they can't even unbann you if they wan't to. Just gotta buy the new game

i dont think that vac bans are for 'life'.
Maybe a one year ban or something?..

At that time, the game is aged, and people are probebly playing newer versions of Call of Duty.

The 1-2 year ban used to be true but then Valve decided to change it to perma which mean for life until you get a new account.
