It went to the government in the form of tax? Lol.
alright someone posted a riddle (i didnt read it) but here is a tough one
its gonna sound really weird at first but just keep reading
3 guys go into a hotel(keep reading its not a joke)
only one room is left(still not a joke)
the room is 30 dollars so they each pay 10.
later the manager realizes it was only $25 so he sends a butler to give the men the $5 back. He doesnt know how to split $5 betwenn three guys so he gives them each $1 and keeps $2.
therefore getting a dollar back instead of paying ten dollars each they actually payed $9.
So 9*3=27 plus the two that the butler kept for himeslf =$29.
WHERE IS THE OTHER DOLLAR??? reply with your answer
It went to the government in the form of tax? Lol.

Tax?? How about Old is Old...
Posted same shit like a week ago i seen it...
Is that the actual answer?
The 3 men initially pay $30
$30 goes to the manger, the room is only $25 so the manager gives the butler the $5
The manager has now got $25 and the butler $5
The butler gives a $1 each to the men = $3
The manager has now got $25, the butler $2 and the men $3
25 + 2 + 3 = $30
It's just logic, and the trick lies in how the problem is worded.
The men are 30 out of pocket. The manager + butler total is $30. The men are given $3, that makes them $27 out of pocket, and the manager + butler are $27 dollars up.

War does not determine who is right- only who is left.
right it is logic. the person who did the math is right.
really u say tax and then say it is old. that is an awful answer. there still needs to be $30
In the end, they did not end up paying $9 each. They still paid the full $10 each. They paid $30, the manager sent with the Butler $5, the Butler gives them each $1 and keeps $2 for himself, which equals $30. The dollar isn't missing, the math at the end of the riddle only tricks you to believe that the dollar is missing.
They each paid $10.
Which totalled to $30.
The manager said OOPS it's $25, so he gave the butler $5 to return to the men.
$25 on the side.
$3 to the men
$2 to the butler
Hotel Manager has = $25
Butler has = $2
Men have = $3
No money is missing, the riddle tricks the reader that they paid $9 when couting money paid AFTER a refund is stupid. When you say the men paid $9 each you're subtracting 3 when they're supposed to have 3 and the manager has the rest of their money ( the suppose $9 each )
I've heard this riddle in elementary, so it's pretty common.
