    CPU usage

Hey guys, I just installed Norton Antivirus 2010, and ever since I did, my CPU usage is up to 80-100% usage all the time. Even typing this thread lags. Can anyone help me?

Go in to Task Manager then go to Processes tab and organize the processes by CPU usage by clicking CPU right next to User Name and see what process is taking up all your CPU. Post back here what the process name is. If its name is a weird one with random letters and numbers it's probably a virus because my sister downloaded one just like that on our family computer.

Norton is a known memory hog and way too over-protective..

Oh hell no AVG is worse, it picks up way too many false positives and conflicts with lots of online games..

I recommend Avast for any gamer /yea

Better to be safe than sorry I always say. If it's a false positive I just add it to my exceptions. All my online games seem to work fine but I guess it would mess with game servers and shit.
