I pray...
God save my soul,
For surely my sins must have been great,
To have the angel of my dreams stare upon my face,
Only to have him walk away.
God give me serenity,
For my worries are immense when he walks out the door,
My heart beats at a much slower pace than before,
Only to feel alive in his arms once more.
God give me patience,
Because I know despite his wrongdoings he has a good heart,
For it beats stronger every minute, as he stole mine from the start,
To hold our memories as lights in the darkest of nights when we’re apart.
God give me strength,
For he’s the man who stole my breath away,
So I can stand on my own two feet again without dismay,
As together, beneath you & the moonlight we sway…
