[SOLVED] custom textures

hey, i have tryed everything to start making my own texture for mw2, i have converters for both iwi to dss and back, with a crc32fix. but no matter what i do, i cant even get the game to load without crashing at the main menu, with the error just saying it cant load the file. even if i take a file straight out of a iwd dir, convert it to dds then back without modifying it, the game will still crash. can anyone plz help, or is everyone just going to keep quite and those who do know just keep it to themselfs. i have a good computer, with win64, ive tried cs5 to gimp, and still cant figure out why the game wont even load. does it have to do with mip maps?, ***5 compression, ??? both the converters i used worked for others, but its like there some invisible step or setting i need to change? plz help

im just saying, i have the tools and resources, but i just cant get it. i can hex edit, Photoshop, not a programmer, its just i hate trying for hours everyday trying to figure this out, just to have the same crap happen every day.
