.. to obnoxiously defend their religion at any given moment. Even if someone makes one comment about it, good or bad, they have to instantly jump to the conclusion that you're trying to attack them and then they begin stereo-typing you and whatever or religion or non-religion may be. It just annoys me a little bit when people don't take the time to listen to you, and they just decide to yell instead of having a civilized conversation.

well, they're over sensitive,
so whenever ur in a group that u dunno them much, take note of their body language, etc before speaking up.
well i think, if u seriously apologise or backtrack by saying, wow wow hey chill, u know i dont mean that. i think they'll get the idea.
if not, i think others will, they'll think the person is over sensitive.

Your religion trains your brain to think that theirs is always the one that is right, so when some one insults it, your brain puts on a defensive "shield" to defend your religion.
That's why personally I don't go to church or anything like that, I don't feel like getting brainwashed today.

Thats any religion, people defend it because its their beliefs. Its something to be taken seriously since it deals with the matters of ones soul, so it is actually personal. You just need to find people more comfortable with their beliefs. Some people get defensive because they have their own doubts but are made to think a certain way. A person who holds full true faith doesn't care what ya say.
