Since I worked with PC for a looong time, I think I can help.

First of all, ignore any name brand (Alienwares), those are too expensive. The lowest line of the Alienware PC area is 900 bucks. Also gaming PC are unreliable and are prone to slowly break down.

Second, you need to know how much you're going to spend: 2,000, 1,000? So on and so on. This allows you to think in a realistic goal.

Third, research! Don't ask US, we have no qualify in the PC field, go to a local computer store, call someone, ask around!

Fourth, get a PC that you LIKE not that it does the job for you.

Get a Windows 7 computer. I would not recommend getting a laptop. If you have enough, buy a desktop or build one.

I work with computers all the time and have built many, many computers. I suggest that if you want a laptop computer you go with a nice dual core computer, try to stay with Hp and other big brands, except for dell. if you want a desktop, that is where the value is. There is a large list of items you will need to get to build a computer. It isn't very hard as long as you have someone who knows how to do it.( I can help if you need it). The site to buy all of the computer hardware at is newegg.c(o)m (not advertising, just info). They are the main computer parts site with the best deals. If you would like some more information just pm me.
