[Tutorial] Decrease Ping! Guranteed Work!

Tired of lagging? Well its your lucky day, follow this guide, and say Bye bye to lag! I decreased my ping with almost 30%!

For this we gotta edit the registry, watch carefully. If anything goes wrong in your registry your PC may CRASH.

NOTE: If you have Vista, you need to have Service Pack 1 installed. Without it will have no work.


1. Go to your start menu > run > type regedit > ok


2. Browse to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\servic es\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces

3. Browse the folders under Interfaces. Look in all of them, until you find DefaultGateway, which should be 192.xxx.xxx.xxx (x = whatever)

4. If you find the correct one, right click on an empty spot, and select New > DWORD (if 64-bit it needs to be QWORD)

5. A window should pop-up, now do the following:

(CASE-SENSITIVE, SO NOT: tcpackfrequency but TcpAckFrequency)
Name: TcpAckFrequency
Value: 1 <Hexadecimal>

Press Ok

Do step 4 again, but now:

Name: TCPNoDelay
Value: 1 <Hexadecimal>

Press Ok

6. If you have done it correctly it should look like this:

7. Close the registry editor, and restart your PC.

8. Go in any game and check out your ping!

Well i dont have screens of my before pings without this tweak. But my ping was first about 40-50, now 20-30

In MW2 my average is 100-110

Well, for ppl who dont know whut registry editor is or its there first time looking at the regedit window, i dont not recommend u touching yer regedit or deleting anything from there. Its how the comp works. U dont recommend it, but if u were planning to reintall yer OS u can give messing with yer regedit. Not mess but trying out enchaning yer gameplay.

I will try this one out, my ping is good because my upload speed is 0.4mbs, but my download is shit 300kbs and it suppoes to be 1.2mbs... (1200kbs)

EDIT: i need help here, when i go to the "Interfaces" folder, i see 3 numbered folders, i went into them. I found DefaultGateway, but it's not starting with 192.etc.etc, its with 5.0.*.*, theres another folder wich has this qword "DhcpDefaultGateway", that one starts with 192.*etc.. wich one should i edit?

mmmm. I tried this and my download speed went from 21Mb/s to 40Mb/s and I did a PingTest to see if I got any packet loss (like corrupt data) and it came up with 0% I'm going to download a few files now and see if they get corrupt.

EDIT - Just downloaded a few files and they didn't go corrupt! Good work.

Thanks, i cant really show you the results, i'm having a terrible ping time (on speedtest its going to like 600+ms ping) but earlier today it was like 800ms+ ping (should bring my ping down from like 50-60 to about 20-30).
