    Explain & Introduction

    Hello everyone,
I am new to this website and also new to .rez modding. Can someone please just explain to me what all can be done with .rez mods. I see all of these post saying (a gun) is being turned into (this gun). Can you really change a gun to a whole other gun? I would just like to know what all can be done with modding. If someone could.

    Well all that aside.

    Hello MPGH,
My name is James -aka- Sql1njection. I am a former blackhat networking hacker, and now moving to game hacking and game hack design. I have a total of 12 years of coding experience with these languages.

    Hi James,

Rez. modding changes a gun into a gun that looks like another gun or to attach a skin to it.
Cross modding involves changing the gun very differently as in the Rate of Fire or changing the gun completely in to another gun and/ or explosive or melee weapon. You can look for examples in alot of the Rez modding posts.

Welcome to MPGH James, Hope you have fun hacking!

    Hi, James! Welcome to MPGH.

Well it looks like you know what your doing with computers, but modding is mostly more of a creative aspect, usually dealing with photoshop and paint.net. However, if you can hex edit, your already ahead of the game.

Here are some links to really helpful tutorial that I used to get me started.

Here is every thing you will need to know about modding

How to not be a modding noob!

[HEX EDIT]How to change rate of fire for SMGs, MGs, and ARs

    Quick and Easy texture

Those are just some of the basics. If your looking for something more specific, look here!

Have fun! Hope to see some releases soon!

Wow. Welcome to MPGH James! You really look like you can contribute a lot to this site.

There are 3 type of modding (as I know of).

    - Texture modding
    - Cross-modding
    - Hex Editing

Texture modding is just changing a skin of a gun. You can create your own with Photoshop or Paint.Net. You can creates textures of anything in the game!

Cross-modding is changing one gun to another. This has a few benefits depending on what gun you change your weapon into. These can include: Faster rate of fire, faster reload time, and faster deployment time.

Hex Editing is editing the codes in the weapon files. With Hex editing, you can change the RoF without cross-modding or make a no reload mod for a gun. For now, that's all I know with hex editing.

Good luck and have fun at MPGH!

Well thanks everyone except (Thieving Eh <-- asshole)
Your links were helpful, I hope I can bring what I know to use on this website. And (GaMBiiT) making a hack is not new to me, its modding the way you all do. I have not messed with that all. I have made CS:S Hacks, BF1942/2/2142 Hacks, & Runescape AutoBots. And (HoboMaster) what is (FSP?)

Our modding group, known as Fail Sauce Production.
It was originally started by [MPGH]Distinct, known back then as Sosodistinct
He was one of the few who made MPGH the most advanced hacking websites dealing with modding
We also have Elite Fail Sauce Production, for the more experienced+veterans of FSP
FSP has created a sub-research group known as Project Recon. This sub-group was able to create something that was in all the hacks. Chams...except, it is unpatchable. Yes, unpatchable.
It is also known that Project Recon has created mods that are currently being considered by the Head Admin of MPGH, Dave, to add these mods to VIP Hacks

Well before I make a decision of joining FSP. What do you think I could bring to your group? I have 0 experience in modding.

I wouldn't suggest joining a group just yet. Just because your amazing at coding doesn't mean you have the ropes at modding. Give it time, listen to critics (there are a hella lot here. Don't get discouraged. They're assholes for a reason). Then decide if a Mod Team is right for you.
