Custom scope help

hey guys I have been trying to make my own custom scope for about 5 hours now and I always get an error when I load iw4mp.exe

This is what i do.
I change the original scope_overlay_m40a3_1024#0.iwi into DDS then open it in photoshop elements 8.0, using alpha channel make my changes to it. Then save it as scope_overlay_m40a3_1024#0.DDS with ***5 argb 8bpp interpolated alpha. Then change that into IWI and it IS the same size and the modified dds. I then open the modified iwi in HXD and also the original iwi and copy the first two lines rom original into modified one and also elete the last four bytes.
The I fix the crc32 then put it into iw_04 and try and play it.

What am I doing wrong?

Ok Virus scans are up.

I have found the problem. I was using the wrong file as original when crc32 fixing.

But now i have another problem, my scopes are messed up. the lines are all grey/white/pink/yellow.
I think this has something to do with the alpha channel. When I select the alpha channel I get dotted lines around the black lines in my scope but not around the new ones I have put in ( I am using the default scope made by IW)

I have read the alpha channel sticky, but I didn't understand it very well.

the confusing bit is im using a scope made by IW and as soon as I select alpha channel it ruins it in game.

any help?

Make sure you save as D X T1 alpha channel

No as I can't have RGB 8 and ***5 interpolated alpha or ***1.

The one on how to make custom scopes, then the one one how to make ur mods work in multiplayer, and the one on alpha channels.

Would it be easier if someone else just made it work?

Well sorry if im not much help im more of a skin/camo guy. make sure your only using MW2 converters and not Cod4 ones
