~ if you have a spare 2gb usb (or anything more than 750MB) then use eboostr (google it)

That doesn't really improve performance (usb speeds are far from ram speeds).

My desktop has a 5GHz cpu with 12 cores under proper cooling. Oh and 12GB of cl8 1600MHz ram. Oh and 4 GTX480s. LCed and OCed ofc.

Then it's not a hardware upgrade you need, probably some of your software is having problems. If you have enough free space try installing a new system, using the newest (stable) drivers and don't install anything you need. Might help if you used Gamebooster or Smartclose too.
