1. I'm underage, so any contract I sign can't be used against me till I'm 18.
2. I can't go to jail, I'm underage, they'd have to wait till I'm 18 to send me to jail. (probably gonna send me to Juvenile Detention and once I turn 18 send me to jail if that's how long my sentence is..)

But anyway. I didn't necessarily make the hacks, it's other who posted them, I just approved them. And anyway, why would it be illegal to make hacks? you're just modifying a video game, who's been arrested for 10th prestiging MW2 and making lobbies, or modifying their Xbox.. I'm pretty damn sure it's not illegal to mod games.

He settled out of court.

If Nexon wants to sue you, they will. They will win. By downloading their software you agree to their Terms of Service and Terms of Agreement. You breach that by hacking.

However, if Nexon did decide to sue you, they would not have much to sue you for in damages, but if they make a punitive argument, your screwed.

People, it is hard to police, and harder to track down. Much easier to ban people from their servers. The internet is large and anonymous, people are literally a set of numbers, to catch someone is kinda hard and probably wont be worth catching a 10-16 y/o child that they cant hold legally responsible... Furthermore, if you are an adult, there's always a bankruptcy claim if you don't have much to lose... Being 18 and living in your parents home... you have no 'real' assets of worth.

Nexon is fighting a losing battle, if they wanted to stop hacking, they would make the game impossible to hack, invest in more capable servers (although they do an amazing job with the lag already, remembering transatlantic/oceanic connections) and hiring more staff to be "GM's". More screenshots and transmissions of these that get looked over by people or computerised systems... They could do So much more, but being a commercial venture it all costs MONEY.

All in all, there is no way to really defend yourself if they have PROOF.

If nexon would sue me for hacking and breaking the rules of their TOS and TOA i would just say "Im 15 i cant be responsible for a contract until im 18" then i will walk out of court feeling proud of myself.
