I'm disappointed.

I used to come here, every day and check out what's new. There was usually new things, new stuff, new ideas. Things might have not been going all that well, but we were stable. We had ideas, we had thoughts. We were going to put them in action, and we did. Mostly everyone here tried to pitch in. But now, it's all ending. This part of the section is dead, I haven't seen any worthwhile things posted in a while. We usually had some signatures flowing in steady, and all that is gone. I don't even mind new people coming in, it's a new batch of people trying to learn. AOTW has failed, because there has been ripping (in a sense), and that's not good. The other sections are also dead, because no one has tried to help them out. Now, back to this section. We had groups, we had ideas, we had tournaments. Groups have died out, nothing will happen again until this comes back. Czar had his portal idea which wasn't half bad, and I'm sure the other GFX members had ideas that would have helped, but didn't get put into action. The tournaments... oh wow oh wow. That was a beastly idea. Now someone got a sniper, and shot it in the head. Dead.

God, what has come to this? Everyone tried to contribute to the section. Everyone contributed to helping, and then killing, this section. I really don't want to list this out any problematic features of anybody, so all I will say is, I am disappointed. In all of you. In all of us.

What is the true foundation of this section?
To some it may be a subject to be debated,
but since I am the owner of this post, it is only fair to illuminate my personal answer.
My answer is:

Creation.

Whether simple or advanced,
from the left side of your brain, or the right.
The answer is creation.

So what is creation?
Tough question actually, considering the multitudes of answers that can be provided.
I think it's safe to say, that creation comes from idea.
Usually a series of them. Once those ideas are solid, then comes production.

I'm sure you're all probably asking how this pertains to the "art" section.
Well to break it down without getting overly philosophical,
I believe our ideas need to evolve, before committing to creation.
I also believe that oppressing free speech in this section,
is absolutely critical to the direct application of creativity.
Sure, there are a few people that can be less rude here.
I'm not even excluding myself in this case,
but to stray away from myself to appease, to follow what another believe is right?
Well..that wouldn't be very creative of me, now would it?
Look how many times Scrcrw has been banned.
He is only being himself, speaking only from his heart.
75% of the time, it was legitimate opinion, and not meant with malicious intent.
He speaks no racist comments, no words of harm nor hate towards anyone,
yet because someone has a dislike for his opinion, and his movement, BAN.
Sounds a bit like a dictatorship, doesn't it?
The server is still in America right?

Bottom line is this, forums thrive from their users dedication.

And to the retards that ripped to enter this competition..
People like me will always expose you.
If you want to be like the ones you ripped so bad,
there is only one solution.

BE A CREATOR.

Dedicate your time to learning art techniques.
It took me years to learn how to draw and paint.
I almost failed 11th grade because I was so addicted to painting,
I'm not saying to do that, but be smart about it and find free time to learn.

Oh, nice job implementing the "Art" section and all the other things it's comprised of, they're totally getting new members LOL (this isn't directed towards you Dragon).

Apparently theres a "big" thing coming. Don't know what but I'm hoping it's good.

I don't see the point of threads like these. I haven't seen this accomplishing anything. What would accomplish something is you actually doing something about it rather then making pointless threads. You can organize a tourney. A battle between the teams. None of them are official so anyone can do anything. If you want to do something then do it. Don't wait for it then complain about it not happening. All of these changes that we (the Official Team) have implemented do not in anyway affect the working of the Graphics Section. The reason why you think it's dead is because you have done nothing to help this section grow. The people that kept this section alive and well were "you". And now the people restricting the section and letting it decline are "you".

BTW I'm not directing that at you Dragon but more towards everyone complaining about the section.

PS: I'm not as active right now because I'm at the rear end of my schooling career (3-4 weeks of schooling, 6-7 weeks till my HSC Examination)

I don´t wanna give up. Guys, art section is just positive oposite against hacking and killing. I like to play games and hack, but this section give me 2nd opportunity to express myself. I can paint and draw but I can´t make hack (respect to guys who can). Lets share ideas and experiences in both ways. Greetings from Academy of Fine Arts!!!!
