So, I am sure this post will make the majority of this forum quite butt hurt.
I have been on this forum for about, 1-2 days. And oh my. So many 12-16 year olds calling themselves 'Hackers'.
The actual definition of hacker, is to gain unauthorized access to another COMPUTER. Not to software.
Now, in general speak, using software to gain you access is not considered 'Hacking'. Sorry.
Kids saying Cheat Engine is a hacking tool? Negative. It is a memory reading / writing program.
You are changing values within your own PC. Do you still want to call it hacking, even though you are technically "hacking" your own computer? If so, sweet. Do me a favor and deltree C:\ ...show me how leet your skills are in hacking your own computer.
Alot of you are Script Kiddies. You copy / paste pre written code, change the title on a form and claim it as your own.
Alot of the code snippets people post here, are widely known. Yet you all claim its your own work.
Now, you kids may think its cool to calling yourself a hacker. I am sure, you also fall into the same category as thinking Justin Bieber is the best singer.
Adults (18+) tend to think you are idiots. But hey, what do we know? We just work for a living, and we're old.
I am 25 years old, a former United States Marine(0311 - Rifleman). I have been programming since i was 12. So i'd hope my word holds a bit of weight.
Trust me when I say, you are not a hacker. But merely, an exploiter.
With that said, exploit away.

no1 really cares what u call it...
Ahaha. I hate that to. I know more about computers than your average 13 year old,(e.g. what average 13 year old knows what an SQL database is) but I don't consider myself a Hacker. At school, I see kids at school calling themselves hackers for guessing their friends facebook passwords. God its annoying.

Agreed.
If you've watched the various videos on Youtube of people 'hacking'...you'll get a kick out of them.
Example,
A kid claims he hacks paypal. Shows an account with $0.00
Then he shows the 'same' account on https://localhost/ with $98,21,73,23
(notice the misplaced comma's)

I agree with you, the term is misused a lot, but when we use the term 'hack' we don't actually mean we can hack into other networks/computers, that's the reason they're called game hacking sites.
You can't nitpick at everything that bothers you in life. We've added a word before it to make as much sense as possible.

You spelled "misusing" the wrong way.
But I do agree with what you say. It makes me lol sometimes too.

Also, you're misusing the term 'kid' wrong, not all of us are kids.
Are we complaining about it? No, we're dealing with it, just like all the other shit you have to deal with in life.

I find it somewhat amusing that you read my post, yet you think in my post, I referred to EVERYONE on here as a kid.
I am not disputing the 'Game Hacking' name of the website, but more so telling the people of the website that they are simply not 'Hackers'.

Sorry about that, I wasn't clear. Us as in game hackers ( I'm not much of a game hacker myself yet ), you assume everyone who thinks cheat engine is a hacking tool is a kid ( or at least just the ignorant ones ), is what I meant.
Edit: I agree 100% with you on the script kiddie part, it's not right to take someone else's work and call it your own, but I guess that applies for everything.
i don't use the hacks anymore. all my crap got deleted.
