this isnt direct x man its a fake d3d menu, to make a d3d menu in vb u need to add mdx to your project refrences, thats found in windows/microsoft.net/directx or somthing like that its also very hard in vb because theres alot less tutorials, im working on one now and ive got like 40 hours into it for cod7
