There is a lot of good advice here but I'd recommend getting ebooks on it... I have several if ur in trouble finding some...

Learn C++ and assembly.

When you start making stuff in c++ it is most copy past but after you learn what the defrent codes mean and getting an understanding then you can move on desiging your own hacks

To learn C++ you must MUST learn the easier stuff first like HTML Visual basic, Well you could just jump straight into it but its easier this way

Like others said, learn c++. Start making no-menus first and then, later learn d3d9. Also, before you start learning c++, its good if you learn vb too.
But get this, coding takes time. Also, this question was in ,,latest q and a. Check that out.
