lol! That's about 1/8th of the processor he has now.

A suggestion I have is to get at least 6 gb of ram for optimal performance. Nothing I hate more than being RAM bottlenecked.

the bottom 1 has 8MB L3 Cache.

the top has 8MB L2 cache.

thats why the 2nd is slightly better.

If you are going to be overclocking, the 875k will beat it by a mile. You only put stress on the CPU by increasing the multiplier meanwhile the other i7's that aren't "k" or "extreme" need to be overclocked by raising the front side bus which puts stress on the entire system, potentially causing component failures such as in RAM and the motherboard.
