C# Grade Program! Need Assistance!

hey guys im at uni.. studying computer science.. this is actually the first big assignment i gata do but they havent taught us how to do the main bits in it yet..
The assignment is due in 4 weeks time.. so i better start now..

but what i needed help with is that my program has to take its information from a .dat source file and use the information within that .dat file to perform its grade calculations etc..
they have not taught us yet (and i dont think they will before the assignment hand in date), how to take the information from this source file!

i would greatly appreciate any help that anyone could provide me in this area!

The best place to ask programming (non hacking related questions) is either here (Stack overflow) or here (Dream in code)

In these forums seek out the C# subforum (I beleive it's in the other pogrammring section)

Course this is an extremely easy assignment. Like first semester stuff. Im pretty sure they cover I/O like 2nd week of any programming class, so it should be a piece of cake. If your taking formal classes they most undoubtedly are teaching to pass instruction via command line arguments. Try entering a few grades this way. Work on the program then simply work on the read file and parsing function later. I couldn't imagine this taking more then a day with even only week of study C#.
