That said, I call bullshit because they have stated multiple times that they don't carry over to BO. I know quit a few peeps with mw2 bans and have BO on same acct and still play BO without bans



Just saying it's possible although not probable. Just as it's possible for them to ban mac address and ip and not tell anyone so you buy the game again and still can't play ... But now that would just be retarded.

My Account only for test textures were banned too...
I did not use any rank hacks , any trainers , any dlls , exes , nothing only texture hack..
and got Banned... so yeah its 100% bannble.

Other people are using it without problem. So you probably had some that were not fixed right.

Quite honestly I don't see why Gayarch is causing a shitstorm about texture mods. A lot of people do it just so they can optimize game play by removing in game objects. And if MACROS are aloud, texture mods sure as hell should be. Or or macros going to be banned next?

The problem is, if you allow texture modding, it opens way to texture hacking as well. I think they should find a way to lock all the skins and environments, and leave things like cammos and guns open for modding. Because even if you cham guns it wont have a very big impact.

i kno 4 sure bo bans don't effect mw2!cuz my friends playing mw2 on vacsecure and his bo is banned!unless teres a delay ban on that which i doubt

If you have been banned from Modern Warfare 2, you will still be able to play Black Ops on the same steam account. The VAC ban does only affect Modern Warfare 2, not Black Ops.

VAC bans by game engine.
If you get banned on a game, you will be banned on all games that use the same game engine.

MW2 = IW 4.0 game engine
Black ops = Improved World at War engine.

Erm, no.
COD 1 and united offensive used the id Tech 3 engine (= quake 3 engine)

MW2 uses IW 4.0 engine, which is based on the engine for MW1, which is vaguely based on id tech 3, but the difference between id tech 3 engine and IW 4.0 are enormous, and will not be 'linked' by VAC..

Black ops uses a new engine, based on the waw engine, which was based on the mw1 engine, which again is vaguely based on id tech 3.
But again, the differences are so big, it's not comparable.
