Why would the Earth freeze if the water levels rise? It would be the exact opposite. It would get warmer, light would reflect off the increased surface area of the otion.

No the increase of cool water would kill the gulf stream that runs under the ice. Without it the water would not stay warm as it is. Eventually cooling and freezing. No amount of sunlight would stop t hat.

Global warming isn't as bad as it may sound - ice ages and hotter 'between ice ages' have been cycling for like the past few million years quite fast. Could be that we are at the height of one of the hotter ages and that then the world will cool down in like a few centuries

Anyway, scientist predict that Earth's magnetic field will 'reset' in around 100 - 1000 years or something, causing the start of another ice age (the north and the south pole should switch and all that crap about the core tempertaure falling...). And this was in the National Geographic. So don't say I made it up.
