Next school year (yes, a long time away,) I am planning on taking photography class. I was wondering which brand/model camera I should be considering on investing in. Any ideas?

Yea, i was gonna say cannon. Your best bet is to just go to like best buy or someplace and look at the cameras and see which ones you like (in your price range)

but i have a nikon
if i were you i would buy one second hand cause they depreciate so rapidly, eg i got my D80 w/ lens and filters for $150 aus (lens was also i top end nikon tele)

i wouldnt buy sony, never ever
cannon or nikon, the main reason is lenses, once you get into photography you can have a great camera with aight lenses or you can have a good camerara with great lenses and its gonna be a lot better
thats one of the other things, a 1 year old camera will be cheaper, not much different from the current model, and now you have more money for lenses
