    .rez.66d5af48.nxgz files?

In the new content update my NEXON folder now has these new file extensions for the .rez files. The regular .rez are still there but they're followed by the same file with this weird extension

It probably has to do with reading the REZ files. Nothing major.

Patcher probably just exited prematurely and didn't have the chance to remove temporary files. Leave them there, run the patched again (and let it complete). If they're sill there, do ansesrch for all nxgz files in tie CA folder, highlight all and delete.

Some details - from the naming of the file extension, just looks like a REZ file arhived in a Nexon gzip file. The random letters and numbers are probably a hash of the timestamp / version information - you can see this when the patched runs (in the status area).
