    Wrong, they do. It's just they are targetted rarely and cannot spread from Mac to Mac which kind of contradicts the meaning of virus but people these days call anything that is malicious a virus.

    Having said that, it is true that Macs are not as prone to malware - most Mac infections occur as a result of user behavior (downloading Warez or counterfeit software, for example).
