SOLUTION: plug the headphones BEFORE starting crossfire and dont pulg them out until you close crossfire then they will work. if u unplug 'em and plug em again in the game, they wont work

What system are you using? If you're using Vista / 7 you can easily change the default device before you go in game, if you have XP just plug in the headset and set the mixer device to whatever sound card / sound drivers are controlling your headset and then set the sound to the headset within those drivers. If you want more help you need to give us some specs (google: Seccy) and what headphones you're using (at least the type: normal jack / usb etc.).

Buy some SkullCandys they are boss. But plug the earphones in then start CF, unplug them, minimize CF, check if volume is up, go back to CF, check if volume is up. It should work.

Did they come with an installation CD? If so install whatever software came with them, since they are usb headphones they aren't managed by your sound card.

Read what I said up there ^ Learn the difference between USB audio stuff and stuff that connects to your sound card. You can't have your sound card control something connected via usb.

    ^ that.

If you need further help with finding any drivers tell us the model / maker, if you don't know how to change the mixer device before going in game, it's simple:

1] Double click on the sound icon in the task bar's tray
2] Click on "Options" and then "Properties"
3] Select your USB device under "Mixer".

Here's an example of my config, I'm using usb headphones too atm since my laptop doesn't have the jacks required for a normal 5.1 headset
