Best pc game to mess around with?

What's your favorite pc game you just go in and have fun with, not like some thing to be serious about like combat arms but something like garry's mod. Freelance and fun. Open world maybe? I'm just looking into getting some new fun games to play.

Minecraft looks a little childish, and blocky and not very detailed. I downloaded garry's mod (torrents ftw) and now im tryna get it to work. I agree with ghost as far as not making anything, just fucking around. I have gta iv for 360, but after beating it, playing around gets boring. i wanna get gay tony, but... got better things to spend money on.

Minecraft is much more simple than Garry's Mod.

Graphics are secondary to gameplay.

Of course, totally neglecting graphics isn't going to help though.

Graphics are beyond secondary. Look at Quake world. Terrible graphics for an FPS, but it still has a lot of people playing. Having good graphics never hurts, but judging a game on graphics at all is just bad.
