[Problems when I opened C++]

I had a problem when opening Microsoft Visual C++. When I opened it my PC hanged but the applications I was opening was working. I don't know what's the problem of this. Please, help me.

What Windows do you have? If you don't know one of the following two commands will help (I think XP has a small t and Vista / 7 a capital one):

systeminfo | find "System type:"
systeminfo | find "System Type:"

Is this the C++ runtime you were trying to install? Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)
