So, I am buying a new laptop
Old Specs:
GatewayFx Gaming laptop
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.2ghz
Nvidia 9700m GTS 1GB dedicated ram
4GB DDR3 RAM (I only used 3 because of 32 bit)
17" HD screen
320GB hard drive (not sure about the rpm)

New Specs:

Asus G60VX-RBBX09
Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 @ 2.53GHz (overclockable to 2.83ghz)
4GB DDR2 ram
Nvidia Geforce GTX260M 1GB dedicated ram
16" LED-backlit LCD high-definition 1366 x 768
640GB Serial ATA hard drive capacity (320GB x 2; 7200 rpm)
9 cell battery

blah blah..

So my main question is the RAM..

My laptop before this one had DDR3 ram, and this one has DDR2 :O I am just wondering how big of a difference that would be.. I know that 99% of the programs on a computer are based on other hardware besides the ram and are not so dependent, but just to be sure, what kind of performance will I be expecting..

The gtx 260 is obviously a high performance card, and well.. pretty damn good, the intel core 2 duo has .35 more than my previous computer had, and the huge hard drive space is amazing , just the ddr2/ddr3 ram what is the difference, and what kind of improvement will i be expecting in my games...

I don't play alot of high powered games like Crysis, etc.

I play Call of Duty 4, Mw2 (Alteriwnet), and then some low powered games like crossfire, combat arms, gta san andreas + editing programs such as adobe after effects cs4, sony vegas pro 9, cinema 4d, and autodesk 3ds max..
