Making Gold guns for noobs

Basically i wanted to know how u added a new layer and get it to work?

What tools do u use and how do u get them to work?

Ive seen the custom camo i can do that easily put u add layers from nowhere

I am a photoshop noob

Would u fix a vid up for me? I can do it if i am looking at a vid

Ive stated before, if you dont know the basics, you shouldnt be trying to do advanced stuff. If you know the basics, this tutorial will be easy.

Layer>new layer

Nothing more simple.

Flatten your image. In the layers area, there can only be one.

very nice tutorial very interesting and thanx for teaching me how to mod specular files :P wen i tryed makin them gold though 1 prob the guns were still black but had gold reflections??? do you know how to fix this or do i have to add anything extra???

Moderators should really sticky this thread, because too many noobs beg for golden guns and they use a lame excuse for it, by saying they don't know how to make them their self. So hope they are gonna sticky it (even I used it to learn how to make golden guns). It's a really good tut.

I highly doubt it will get stickied because there is already a lot, and even though some people use this, its not something that is really considered important.

This one. it helped A LOT, especially the color and how to use the alpha channel properly for the gold weapon.
