i used a vector cheetah, made it a smart object. then ctrl+click object, object visible = no. then with object selected select text, then rasterize, the ctr x, then new layer, then ctrl v, with overlay colour

That's called Typography if I'm not mistaken.
It's one of easiest tutorials of Photoshop if you are a little basics with PS.
