First off:

libya - I don't know too much about it, so I'm probably subconsciously taking a bias & ignorant prospective, but is that fucked up or what? I think it's interesting to see the Egyption's cry for democracy propagate through to Lybia but I'm shocked to find that the government is actually killing the opposition residents of their country. I personally hope the people of Lybia keep fighting, and I think they will -- if they don't then at least there is a tremendous amount of tension between the people and their country's government; the government will have to do something sooner or later to satisfy the people. It's sad though, as apparently(more recently) there have be threats of biological warfare such as mustard gas.

I doubt there are American\Canadian mercenaries, but it's a possiblity - there haven't been any reports of them at least, but then again libya's population has fairly limmited communication.

Dude, I think its the culture. The people are nearly as bad as the soldiers. Obviously, I don't mean generalize, but both sides are incredibly vicious to one another and there is no law stopping either side from doing a damn thing.

I saw an african merc(fighting against opposition) beaten down and then killed - what is wrong with these people? I think we're unaware that we live in a society where life is an unnamed pricetag - and they live in a country where a life is a mere pennies.
