how to mod like the old days

What you will need:
Hex Editor (i recommend HxD)
RF016.rez on your desktop

some background:
Rez files work like giant folders, they house the files individually, thus we are still able to modify them with Hex editors for things like instant draw and rapid fire!

here's how!
Open RF016.rez in a hex editor
search "prefire", as an example, you should come across:

(name "prefire" )...

That is part of an LT A based file (which if you copy all that section of hex to its own file, you can open it in Model Edit and mod it and export it, but thats another day).

search "prefire" 3 more times...you should hit prefire with a bunch of giberish above it.


take that section of the hex (which btw, is part of a LT B gun model file), and edit it to look like so:


that would be instant prefire! now search "Fire", you should get the following


edit that the same way you edited prefire, this will give you rapid fire!


search fire again, you should get Prefire_L, edit it the same way...


then again, search fire again, should get fire_L, do the same with the 01s

i can't tell you which gun this is, but i can tell you i'll have a full rez file soon done with this method, i know the method works, because thats how i do it in CA when i want a good challenge for modding.

i have saved this edited rez file, and the game booted up with no crash so for now, i bid you farewell! XD

i forgot to say this, you gotta replace the rez file during the games boot up

i think that way to get a no recoil mode is patched coz i think when the patch starts he checks the file size

Worked for me...switch the modded file just after the scanning is done and before the game pops up

omg dose this work for u. wasnt this patched for a long time ago -.- but i can atleast test it
